Auchenharvie Amateur Swimming Club was established in 1973 and has gone from strength to strength and now has a membership of 179 kids.  Our mission is to offer children and young people in the Three Towns and surrounding area, the opportunity to learn to swim in a safe and friendly environment. Our vision is to encourage all children to reach their full potential.

The Club is run by an elected committee who are responsible for the week to week running of the club and of course ensuring that the club operates in a financially responsible manner.

Auchenharvie Amateur Swimming Club is affiliated to Youth Scotland and The Royal Life saving Society UK and is also one of the many feeder Clubs to North Ayrshire Amateur Swimming Club, who swim competitively within the District League.

SWIMMERS

The Club enrolls children from 5 years old, when they begin in the small pool, where they master water confidence through to basic strokes.  Once achieving this, they then progress into the big pool, where they will continue with both water skills and stroke development. At this stage they will work on the three main strokes Front Crawl, Back Stroke and Breaststroke. Swimmers will also start to develop the basic concept of Butterfly and also diving.

After the swimmer has reached their full potential in the final class of the big pool, they then have the opportunity to continue on to the Speedo class.
